WOMEN + GENDER STUDIES
My passion for trasnformative justice extends beyond my double major in Women’s and Gender Studies (WGS). Growing up as 1 of 4 sisters, I have always been encircled by different narratives of womanhood. WGS emphasizes feminist and social justice theory with focuses on agency, social responsibility, advocacy, and activism. I studied the interconnectedness of systems and structures of gender, race, class, sexuality, age, ability, culture, religion, and nation within broader historical, social, global, and transnational contexts.
MIXING STUDIES
Collaging connections between human sciences and theatre arts has built the most iconic scrapbook of education. As a feminist scholar, I dive into the relationship between Theatre Arts and WGS, connecting theory and practice, research and public policy, and systems and community. Community engagement and service-learning are fundamental to any role I fill.
